Mysterious Xiangxi turns into open Xiangxi

Intelligent equipment is operating at full capacity in Hunan Muxing Shidai New Energy Technology Company of Xiangxi High-tech Zone. “Our products are mainly exported to foreign countries, and now products have been sold in the markets of Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Africa and other places,” said an executive of the company.

This company was established in August 2022 and was introduced from Shenzhen by Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. It’s a key project of the “Return of Hunan Merchants” program. It’s engaged in the research and development and production of photovoltaic energy storage products, with a total investment of 220 million yuan.

The company has long-term cooperation with more than 20 internationally-renowned brands, and its new outdoor power product “MARSTERK” uses the latest lithium iron phosphate battery cells, which can be applied in various outdoor life scenarios.

In 2023, Xiangxi Prefecture increased efforts to go global, and introduced 25.2 billion yuan of funds from outside the province, a year-on-year increase of 20.7%. Xiangxi High-tech Zone was successfully approved as a collaborative linkage zone of Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone. And it achieved zero breakthroughs in AEO enterprises and Single E-lock Scheme.

Xiangxi Biancheng Airport was opened to traffic on August 18, 2023, forming a three-dimensional highway-railway-airway transportation pattern. More and more talents, funds and technologies are gathering in Xiangxi Prefecture, and more enterprises invest and develop in Xiangxi Prefecture. Now, there are over 200 high-tech enterprises, over 210,000 market entities, as well as 135 new industrial enterprises above designated size, construction enterprises with qualification grades, wholesale and retail housing and catering enterprises above designated size, and national key service enterprises.

60.9 billion yuan has been invested in 448 provincial and prefecture-level key projects, forming a new engine for economic growth.

In 2023, Xiangxi Prefecture received 57.7 million tourists and achieved a tourism revenue of 56.4 billion yuan, an increase of 25.3% and 18.7% respectively. There were over 400 world-class and national ecological and cultural tourism brands.

The Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark has won the best practice award of UNESCO World Geoparks. Fenghuang, Jishou, and Yongshun have been selected among China’s top 100 counties with tourism competitiveness.
